I checked your blog just yesterday to see if anything new had been posted and today, you do not disappoint!! Such sweetness with such depth of feeling. There are people wrote write and write and say nothing. You are able to say everything in such short and simple verse. The first thing that comes to mind was when I was very young and I would visit my grandmother and watch her drink coffee. She always put a sugar cube under her tongue and drank the coffee black. I asked her “why” and she said..”Sometimes the coffee is bitter and sometimes it’s too strong, but with the last swallow comes the sweetness..”

    • A difficulty I have always had is knowing when to stop, but as I’ve got older I’ve come to the conclusion, more is not necessarily better. Indeed, it can dilute what I’m trying to say. “yoorz” is a good example of this, “hand”, “bak” and “hart” says it all. Any more and it moves from realms of poetry into those of the shopping list.

  3. Ai *LUBS* this poem. Can ai borrow it for Miz Foofytayl’s Tea Room, sunovawot? I am sure it would give cheer and hope to many of our struggling cheezfrenz. Ai’d quote u as teh source, fo course, and point peeps to ur blog. U have so many (or few!) well-chosen and wonderful words of wisdom, it be a pity if they weren’t read.
