frozen

by damommza & sunovawot

Father Time has frozen hands
that will not move at all
when you need the future
it won’t come when you call

He will not spare a second
to get you on your way
minutes remain frozen
moments, forever stay

you can’t escape the present
time will not go ahead
while stuck here in this pain
grief trapped inside your head

if only time would speed up
then you’d be far away
and your problem could be
left in the yesterday

still Time has abnegated
his purpose and his role
leaving you to writhe in
the anguish of your soul

and purgatory clutches you
it holds you to your grief
heaven or darkest hell
either would grant relief

can it be coincidence
Time ceased to play his part
the moment that you plunged
your dagger in her heart

There are two poems that follow this:

  2. ooooohhh. Deliciously dark. I daresay Poe himself would not have done as well. Bravo to both of you!

  3. busy with housework, washing and charity project… nice weather so getting thru the clothes! Back is much better, TY, Damommza! I guess it was the change of weather over the past few days, or overwork, or a combi of both, lol! Still snowy your way? And how is Nov 1st up in TTI?

Bright sun today with temps going up to 60 by Thursday! Snow is melting and there are still over 50K people without power. Everyone should have it back by Friday though. Glad you are feeling better! So, sunovawot, what’s the weather over the pond? 🙂

By Monday afternoon there were 2.5 million along the entire eastern seaboard with no power! All of the power companies have been working 24/7 to get the power grid back up and working. The area I live in still has 50K with no power but all along the seaboard there are still 1 million with nothing. This is being called “the storm of the century” but the century is still young!! :-))

    • I haven’t been out but it looks fairly pleasant, mid 50s fahrenheit, clear sky. Apart from having a load of laundry on, nothing’s happening here 😀

(considering the theme of the poem, it might just be a coincidence, but “Springsteen’s “Murder Incorporated” is playing on the radio 😆 ).

Thank you romeojosiemom! I had a “Halloween Hangover” this morning and that’s what led to this, but it was sunovawot’s rather brilliant “twsit of the knife” that ended it so well! 🙂

    • Thank you, though how a fine, upstanding fellow like me could be involved in writing such dark, twisty material, I have no idea 😆
