draconicly speaking

by damommza & sunovawot

they don’t even know me
already they are scared
even did some good deeds
to let them know I cared

it’s very had to fight
so many years of scorn
I know many people
wish I’d never been born

dragon’s lot’s not easy
many stereotypes
people think It’s my fault
for all their many gripes

I don’t cause high taxes
or harm the fish and fowl
while just breathing fire
sometimes I like to growl

I haven’t harmed their children
their livestock or their kin
still everytime they see me
they try to do me in

I have not been unfriendly
I’ve tried to stop and chat
they shot me full of arrows
now I don’t deserve that

I’ve been the very model
of neighbourly good will
I’ve got to say it’s galling
when all I hear is KILL!!!

they’ve treated me like vermin
since I was very small
and now I’ve mulled it over
I think I’ll eat them all

    (still laughing)
For those of you (and you know who you are) who wonder where we come up with this stuff, sometimes it’s the smallest thing that does it. This poem was inspired by this article:

    and this link:

2012 is the Year of the Dragon. šŸ˜€

    • No prizes will be awarded for guessing which of my verses I wrote first šŸ˜†
