the raggy shaggy monster

the raggy shaggy monster is crawling through my brain
with all the delicacy of a runaway train
momentary images come floating from the black
sneak into my consciousness before I can push them back
to the hell where they belong among their demon kin
instead of lighting fires underneath my skin.

the raggy shaggy monster is clawing me apart
I can feel it’s pointy ends ripping at my heart
there has seldom been a time when it has left me alone
it sits in pomp and splendour on a skeletal throne
and rules me with a passion that I have never sought
the raggy shaggy monster is nothing but a thought

Oh, THIS IS FANTASTIC! I love it!! The power of ‘one-single- thought’ is enough to shred anyone’s soul. BRAVO!

I am a big fan of his and a devoted pastafarian, going so far as to have a FSM ornament on my Christmas tree. 😆 😆 😆

    • Thank you, this was one of the rare poems where the title came first and suggested the poem rather than the other way round 😀
