the thief

by damommza & sunofawot

where is the sun
ripped from the sky
the thief, cloaked in darkness

who tip-toed in
disguised as dusk
and stole the orb of light

while lovers weep
and children dream
steals moments from our lives

as minutes pass
and day has gone
we’re left with blackest night

has he reason
for this misdeed
when asked he merely smirks

his game his own
our lives his toys
the nightmare walks abroad

Ohai, mai friend…what a fitting poem, at least for me just now. I woke up from a nice afternoon nap at 6 p.m. yesterday evening to come downstairs and find myself face to face with two yobbos in my kitchen attempting burglary…again. Now I can’t even leave our dog flap open in early evening now, and I have a new kitty boi who doesn’t deal well with the locked flap.

These people are killing me. I have to find a way to beat them without having to live in an armed fortress. More cameras on order, as well and an additional alarm system.

Sorry, if this this is not an appropriate ranting arena…*hedbonks*

OHAI CMiWY! I cannot believe you are still dealing with the same thing! You need a big, loud dog, I think. I have two tiny ones and they bark like they are as big as horses. Even the mailman is afraid to come near. Sending you hugs and best wishes that this never happens to you again.

Thanks, damommza…if I didn’t have cats, I would get a couple of barky little dogs…my big, black dog just isn’t a barker, which is good as my cats would probably have left home if she were…

i have a cat too and the dogs know that when she appears, they get a treat so they are very happy to have her around. Tell your big black dog it’s time to start barking! πŸ˜€

    • I’m sorry to hear that, I would suggest a smaller dog flap, or getting one of the magnetically keyed ones, apart from that I have nothing for you but my sympathy and best wishes πŸ™‚

Sunovawot, I think this was my first attempt at poetry that doesn’t rhyme yet flows like a traditional poem. You ended it beautifully. As always, I bow to your talent. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
