whither the words?

by damommza & sunovawot

There is a place, where lovers come,
to bury words unsaid
leave thoughts of love meant at one time
emotions, now are dead

the “I love you”s and “will you be”s
and “forever after”
filled with such promise, long ago
life so filled with laughter

like corpses of a life they lost
miscarried before birth
they bury them and shed a tear
deep in this hallowed earth

and pray that spring will come again
to see such feelings grow
once more to carry “I love you”s
into the world they know

Excellent title choice and a beautifully, hopeful ending! 😀 😀

  2. So it IS true that words have a life of their own.

Congratulations to you both. (I like to hear wither and thither from time to time 😉 )

Awww, Thank you PB! I’m glad you liked it. This came from a discussion sunovawot and I had about what happens to the parts of poems that he doesn’t use.

    • Thank you, it was the words that did it, we just came along for the ride 😆
