I always think that you sound like Sir Richard Burton. I sound just like Babwaaaaa..only I can’t sing. 😦 It’s very hard to get rid of a Brooklyn accent. 😀

After hearing Cyndi Lauper talk, I did wonder how she could sing like this:

She, thankfully, speaks worse than me! 😀 She was also born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, as I was :-D. BTW..the woman who plays her mother in this video (and in others) really is her mother. 🙂

                  • Now, if, with her accent, she can sing like that, why can’t you? 😆

I waz a mazed to heer Adele, hoo sings like an angel, tawk! Her accent is all cockneed, innit? If’n she kan tawk wif vat cockney axe sent, an sing so sweetly, why carrn’t a proper Englishman such ‘as yerself sing as byew’i’foh, sunovawot?;-)

                    • Um, ’cause I don’t have a cockney accent? 😆

[This may be misplaced, on accounta da cawmint tree seems to haf run out of nesting room!]
Ezzactly! I was thinking that if a cockney lass can do it, wouldn’t an esteemed poet with a more refined Engerlish accent … Oh, never mind;-/
I have a sis-in-law who taught in a teeny-tiny town in TTI, and she said the locals told her there were hundreds of different accents there– that people in the next village over sounded completely different, and those down the road from there, more different still.
So true, tho, about the Welsh. One of my grandmothers was Welshish, but alas, I didn’t inherit their vocal abilities.

    • Don’t worry about the placement 😀
I have heard too many Welsh people who sing nearly as badly as me to be drawn in by their proverbial excellence.
Considering how relatively small the UK is we do have an inordinate amount of regional accents, although it is not as bad as when I was a child, before the BBC had ironed some of the rougher edges. Then, if you travelled around the country, it was not unusual to come across older people with accents so broad as to be virtually indecipherable 😀
