that final step

will it hurt, that final step
I have had my fill of pain
if I call out in despair
will you take my hand again
will you tell me all the good lies
the ones I need to hear
will you promise me you’ll follow
will you try to take my fear
I’m sorry if my tears
are hard for you to bear
I’m just scared that I will be
forever alone there

This is actually a fantastic poem. My biggest fear has always been “when I die, will I get lost?” because in real life, I am constantly getting lost. I used to ask my mother “how will I find my way after I die” and she said.”Don’t worry..we will all come and find you..”

    • Thank you, this was not a particularly easy poem to write, but once the idea bit I was hooked 🙂

I enjoy your writings, sunovawot. I must say I also enjoy damommza’s comments. “snif” I get awful lonesome out here, but mostly I appreciate the humanness between the two of you. So, THANKS FOR SHARING!
