door

I’ve sailed the seas forever with my compass in my hand
I’ve roared a million chanties that none can understand
and spent my time and energy in searching high and low
in many a million places no-one should have to go
and though it seemed that I was bound to search forever more
after all these ages I have finally found your door

  2. thanks for sharing your lovely assemblege of words, but what is a chanty? (not in my oxford) I only know of chanty that is half beer, half seven-up ,concocted during WWII by the Royal Airforce gals to limit their alcohol consumption in case of a cheeky sod invasion! 🙂

    • Another legit spelling of sea-shanty 😉

    • Thank you 😀 pb is right, there are several permissable spellings of (sea) shanty, but the reason I chose that one, whether it is or not, that spelling always struck me as more archaic than “shanty” so it tied in with the idea of the search lasting ages 😀
