golden hair

golden hair, my pretty lass, are all those tears for me
wit and strength are gone now, and I must get some sleep
I cannot reach beyond myself, no more will I be free

golden hair, my darling one, the light begins to fade
and I am drowning in the grue that’s all that I have made
I thought I was the player but it turned out I was played

golden hair, o angel mine, what words are left to speak
the dreams that now surround me are nothing if not bleak
I tried to prove my strength to you, but ever was I weak

golden hair, my precious love, I must bid you goodbye
I have not nerve to stand my ground, it’s time for me to fly
o golden hair, my heart of hearts, for me you must not cry

This is a very poignant and sad poem..love and loss..the two “L’s” of tragedy. This deserves applause. πŸ˜€
