folks say…

folks say i can be whatever
i think that’s a hoot
i know i can’t be a sailor
haven’t got the suit
i can’t be an engine driver
’cause i don’t like trains
nor a teacher or professor
haven’t got the brains
not stern enough to be ruler
too funny for a clown
not a fireman not a policeman
they both turned me down
nor it seems can i be tarzan
job’s already took
so i’ll sit in my wee corner
and get lost in a book

    • Definitely books are good. I have spent many many happy hours hidden in the pages of a novel. Sci-fi has been a life long love, too.

Yep, 9 mos. in the Hospital, learned to walk all over again, NOW have two new knees, a new hip, a heart stent, was in the hosp. last year (2013) Jan. for pneumonia, back in Feb. for stent, back in Mar. for infected foot, had to have (Oxygen) O2 all the time from when I had the pneumonia, only have one lung because of Cancer, 7 yrs. back, also had Prostate Cancer caught real EARLY, YAY for PSA test that caught it early, had Radiology Therapy for that, in remission.
Finally got off daytime O2 in June 2013, only have it at night when I sleep, Sleep Apnea is a long time thing, have taught myself to sleep on my Left side so my Glottis doesn’t close when I fall asleep & relax, that way the Oxygen Concentrator gives me a good supply through the night on a low setting
Miss Feistybutt, my Kitty sleeps right there in the crook of my arm, so I don’t turn over to my back I put a pillow between my knees, had to do that before the new knees because it hurt to lay one leg on the other.
NOW I’m recovering from being T-Boned in traffic in November 2013, totaled my car, half wrecked me, still in the recovery process-Physical Therapy & Chiropractic is putting me back together again (after many times of this it gets easier)
I found out that the VA Hospital has a pool, that’s where I’m headed to do low impact aerobics by walking back & forth with the foam dumbbells for resistance, that’s the NEXT project for me, rebuild my endurance back up to where it used to be.
Still doing the radio show on KDHX from Midnight Monday to 3 am, also am still the doorman at BB’s Jazz, Blues & Soups every Wednesday evening from 6pm to 2am, now onward because I’m only 72 & still have a lot of living to do!!!!!!!!!!!

You do what you HAVE to do, when you have to do it to keep on keepin’ on, simple to say, sometimes a little harder than you’d think but that’s life, take it as it comes!!

Tried it, no FUN there, rather have great moments of terror followed by relief & laughing, actually I’ve experienced most of the outstanding emotions, some were O.K., some were blah, take your pick of the ones you like & go for it!!
P.S., don’t let your eyes overload your brain, lol!!
