mark

blood lessons learnt in the depths of the night
the mantle I wear both a curse and delight
come let me catch you, just one little bite
will see your soul lost to the dark

so come with me now as night lingers on
turn a deaf ear to the harbinger’s song
in less than a heartbeat volition has gone
snuffed out like an errant spark

all that you have is the least I will take
your will I’ll crush and your heart I will break
for this is the truth, and make no mistake
you were born to wear my mark
